The Canadian Home Builders' Association is "the voice of Canada's residential construction industry," and our members are the industry’s leaders from coast to coast. As a three-level organization, when you join your local Home Builders’ Association, you become part of our strong collective voice locally, provincially and nationally – and you get all the benefits from the three levels of the Association, too. CHBA Central Interior is a not-for-profit organization governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors and supported by our professional staff. Since 1965, the Canadian Home Builders' Association Central Interior (CHBA CI) has been "the voice of residential construction industry in the Interior of BC." Representing one of the largest industry sectors in Canada, our membership is made up of over 230 companies – including home builders, renovators, land developers, trade contractors, suppliers, lending institutions, insurance providers, and service professionals.
At the local level, our focus continues to be: monitoring and participating in discussions with our municipal counterparts regarding DCCs and other issues pertaining to local residential building, and represent positively the residential housing industry to the media and all levels of government. Over the past several years, your local has developed a solid public profile in the community and actively participates at both the provincial and national levels of the organization. From municipal government liaison, monthly networking meetings, other networking events, industry seminars, professional development, marketing campaigns, awards programs… members benefit from having their voice heard by local government, make important business contacts, stay informed about the latest trends and issues affecting their business, and build valuable recognition with consumers.
The Association deals with a wide range of provincial government regulations and policies that affect members, their businesses and their customers—from codes and standards, to health and safety, infrastructure financing, the environment and consumer protection. Provincial conferences and awards programs give members an opportunity to meet and network with peers from across the province.
At the national level, our system of Committees’ and Councils brings together builders and industry experts from across the country to share information and ideas, and to formulate recommendations to governments to improve the quality and affordability of homes for Canadians.
