Board of Directors

CHBA Central Interior is an active association comprised of an Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and committees. CHBA CI Executive Officer, Rose Choy; Events Coordinator, Rupinder Bawa, and Administrative Assistant, Mary Fuentes, looks after the day-to-day operations, but the backbone of the association is its members and volunteers.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Association, responsible for overseeing the organization’s activities including advocacy work, networking opportunities, and finances.

Chris Crowell

President

TRUE Consulting

Chris Crowell is a civil engineer with TRUE Consulting, where he specializes in land development and works closely with developers throughout Kamloops. He has been actively involved with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA Central Interior), contributing both his technical expertise and leadership to the organization.

In 2019, Chris served on the Development Cost Charges (DCC) Committee, collaborating with the City of Kamloops to help update the DCC Bylaw. In 2022, he stepped into the role of Chair of the Government Relations Committee, where he continues to support constructive dialogue and advocacy between industry and local government.

Before beginning his professional career, Chris spent eight years competing at an elite level in hockey. He played four seasons with the Vernon Vipers, serving as captain during their 2009 RBC Cup championship season, and went on to play four years of NCAA Division I hockey with the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves while earning his engineering degree.

TRUE Consulting has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2017.

Ryan Kurzac

Kamloops Home Hardware

Ryan Kurzac is the owner of Kamloops Home Hardware Building Centre and a long-standing leader within the Canadian Home Builders’ Association Central Interior (CHBA Central Interior). Since joining the Board of Directors in 2013, Ryan has served as a Director and continues to play an active role in guiding the association’s growth and engagement.

He currently serves as Chair of the Events Committee, helping lead initiatives that bring members together and strengthen connections within the residential construction industry.

In recognition of his dedication and service, Ryan was honoured with the Maple Leaf Award in 2018. That same year, he also received the Rooftopper Award for sponsoring the highest number of new members to CHBA Central Interior.

Kamloops Home Hardware Building Centre has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 1986.

Drew Atkinson

2nd Vice President

Wrabel Brothers Construction Ltd.

Drew Atkinson began his career with Wrabel Brothers Construction Ltd. as a summer student in 1998, became a full-time Red Seal Certified Carpenter in 1999, and in 2021 became a partner in the company.

As Project Manager, he oversees custom homes, commercial renovations, and restaurant projects including McDonald's and Tim Hortons, while managing a team of 25–30 employees and supporting their apprenticeships.

Outside of work, Drew enjoys snowboarding, hiking, golf, and powerlifting.

Wrabel Brothers Construction has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2012.

Mario Piroddi

BDO Canada LLP

Mario Piroddi is an Accounting and Assurance Partner at BDO’s Kamloops office, bringing extensive experience in assurance, accounting, and taxation services since 2001. He works with construction industry businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and local governments, providing expert guidance and support.

Mario has also contributed to professional development, leading audit training for staff at the office, regional, national, and international levels, and lecturing on topics such as audit methodology and financial statement analysis. He has collaborated with BDO’s national office on assurance methodology updates and responses to exposure drafts from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He joined the CHBA Central Interior Board in 2009. BDO Canada LLP has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2008.

Steve DuMont

Gillespie and Company LLP

Steve DuMont has been with Gillespie & Company LLP since 1987, following his move to Kamloops, and has developed an extensive practice in land development, supporting clients on numerous innovative projects. He describes his firm as having “the absolute best clients in BC” and has been an active volunteer in the Kamloops community throughout his career. Alongside his professional work, Steve and his firm proudly support CHBA Central Interior’s annual Training House initiative.

Gillespie & Company LLP has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2015, with Steve serving on the Board since that time.

Tom Calne

Tom Calne is a partner at Fulcrum Development in Kamloops, bringing over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, including 15 years of building locally. In 2017, he served as Project Manager for the Training House in East Juniper’s Kicking Horse subdivision.

Tom has been actively involved with CHBA Central Interior, serving on the Board since 2013 and as Chair of the Government Relations Committee since 2014. Before settling in Kamloops, he and his business partner, Chris, built quality homes in Whistler and Pemberton.

Fulcrum Development has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2008.

Rikki Paquette

Kamloops Truss Ltd.

Rikki Paquette is the Owner and General Manager of Kamloops Truss Ltd. She began with the company in 2010 as an administrative assistant and progressed through roles in bookkeeping, marketing, customer service, and event planning, developing a deep understanding of the business along the way.

In her role at KTL as a component manufacturer, Rikki is passionate about providing excellent service while contributing to the construction industry she finds so rewarding. She is committed to giving back to the community and growing both personally and professionally, and sees her involvement with CHBA Central Interior as the perfect opportunity to do so.

Kamloops Truss Ltd. has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2005.

Jerry Gill

Director

Jerry Gill Personal Real Estate Corp.

Jerry Gill began his career in real estate in his early 20s, assisting clients with buying and selling homes in Kamloops. About six years later, he had his first home built by a contractor, sparking a passion for the home building process. Since then, he has expanded his expertise to include residential home development.

In his free time, Jerry enjoys traveling with his family and hitting the ski slopes. He has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2018.

Brandon Lolli

A&T Project Developments Inc.

Brandon serves as Partner and Vice President of Construction at A&T Project Developments Inc., where he oversees all construction operations, including project estimating, scheduling, permitting, and development approvals. He manages and evaluates Project Managers, Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and construction personnel, ensuring that equipment and materials are in place to keep projects on schedule while maintaining a safety-first workplace.

Brandon has successfully directed numerous commercial and leasehold improvement projects, spanning hotels, retail, recreation, office, industrial, and residential developments in the region. A Certified Red Seal Carpenter and Accredited Project Manager, he credits his mentors with instilling a strong attention to detail and a commitment to an honest work ethic—values he upholds at A&T.

A&T Project Developments Inc. has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 1994.

Wayne Wittal

DW Builders

Wayne Wittal is the President and Partner of DW Builders, a family business he proudly took over in 2022 from his father, Doug Wittal, who served as CHBA Central Interior President in 1992–1993, 1997–1998, and 2007–2009.

DW Builders has been a trusted general contractor in the Kamloops region since 1980, completing countless residential and commercial projects. Wayne earned his Red Seal in carpentry in 2011 and is a licensed residential home builder with 25 years of experience, having worked in every aspect of the construction process.

DW Builders has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 1988.

Paul Douglas

Malcolm Homes Ltd.

Paul Douglas is the Owner and President of Malcolm Homes Ltd. A Red Seal journeyman carpenter, he has spent the past 25 years building custom homes in Kamloops and the surrounding area. As a NetZero certified builder, Paul is passionate about creating high-performance, exceptionally crafted homes.

He is committed to supporting his peers in the industry and was recognized with the Hand Shake Award in 2017, given to the builder who engaged the most CHBA Central Interior members in a year. Paul looks forward to continuing to work alongside other professionals and advocating for the industry.

Malcolm Homes Ltd. has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2010.

Josh Lowden

New Dawn Developments Ltd.

Josh Lowden began his career in public accounting with BDO Canada LLP after earning a Bachelor of Management from the University of Lethbridge. While at BDO, he worked with municipalities, government entities, and private businesses to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

After receiving his CPA, CA designation, Josh joined New Dawn Developments as Controller and later advanced to Chief Operating Officer. He joined the CHBA Central Interior Board in 2022.

Outside of work, Josh enjoys playing and coaching baseball, volleyball, and hockey.

New Dawn Developments has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2018.

Mark Bepple

Appointee

City of Kamloops

Mark Bepple is the Building and Engineering Development Manager for the City of Kamloops and has recently been appointed to the Board.

Mark has worked for the City for 32 years, starting in Engineering in 1994 and then moving to Development Approvals in 2004. He became the Engineering Development Supervisor in 2017 and moved to his current role in 2026.

As a 2^nd generation lifelong Kamloops resident, Mark is grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the development of the community both through his role with the City and involvement with the CHBA CI.

The City of Kamloops has been an active member of the CHBA CI since 1981.

Tim Kasten

Thompson Rivers University

Tim Kasten has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has served in leadership roles within CHBA, including President of CHBA Central Interior from 2005 to 2007 and five years on the CHBA BC Board, including one year as President.

He is also a carpentry apprenticeship instructor at Thompson Rivers University started his own company and built quality homes in Kamloops.

Thompson Rivers University has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 1991.

Tony Bolton

Tony Bolton is the Chief Building Inspector for the Thompson Nicola Regional District. After gaining experience in residential construction across the province, he graduated from Thompson Rivers University’s Architectural Engineering Technology Program, which prepared him for Building Official exams and led to his role as a Residential Plan Checker with the City of Kamloops. In 2013, he joined TNRD and became Chief Building Inspector in 2021, the same year he joined the CHBA Central Interior Board of Directors as a TNRD appointee.

Outside of work, Tony enjoys motorcycling, skiing, and tinkering in his shop, but his favorite time is spent at the lake with friends and family.

Thompson Nicola Regional District has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 1999.

Shaun Minten

Shaun Minten began his construction career in 2006 as an Estimator and Junior Project Manager with Tri City Contracting Ltd., gaining experience in bid bond projects. In 2009, he started his own company, Tri City Contracting Kamloops Ltd., which later became Desert City Contracting Ltd., focusing on commercial concrete formwork. Over eight years, Desert City successfully completed projects across BC, Alberta, and the Northwest Territories. As president, Shaun oversaw all aspects of the business, from project administration and estimating to site layout and hands-on work.

In 2016, Shaun and his business partner launched Interior Concrete Finishing Ltd. to provide a complete concrete package from forming to finishing. In 2018, he sold his shares in both companies and returned to Tri City to lead construction operations. He is now Vice President of Tri City Canada.

Tri City Canada has been an active member of CHBA Central Interior since 2017.

Brendan Shaw is a Kamloops-based real estate professional, managing broker, and founder of Brendan Shaw Real Estate (BSRE). Licensed since 2006, he specializes in residential, commercial, and investment properties and is known for his client-focused, honest approach. With over 20 years of experience, Brendan has made a strong impact on the local community.
