As a member of CHBA Central Interior you are perceived by the consumer to be a professional, experienced, reliable builder or trades person. Use of the CHBA logo is available to all members in good standing. CHBA members agree to a voluntary Code of Ethics which is promoted to the public.
CHBA Central Interior regularly puts on seminars for home builders and related industry suppliers to assist them in keeping abreast of new technology, requirements and trends.
All licensed general contractors will be required to take Continuing Professional Development courses in areas related to the residential construction industry as a condition of renewing their licence each year with BC Housing. CHBA Central Interior offers formal and informal training throughout the year.
Courses which lead to the Certified Housing Professional (CHP), Certified Renovation Professional (CRP) and the Master Residential Builder (MRB) are made available regularly in order for our members to upgrade their skills and stay ahead of the competition.
Build relationships with builders, suppliers and related professionals monthly by attending these complimentary dinner meetings for members. Each evening has a keynote speaker, relevant to the industry. Exclusive dinner meeting sponsor opportunities are available to position your company strategically in front of the local home builders.
CHBA Central Interior coordinates a great, fun golf tournament annually for the benefit of its current and future members.

Often the Central Interior Home Builders Office is phoned by a consumer asking for a home builder or member trades person. We are quick to provide contact information for our members as a referral.
CHBA Central Interior partners with the Thompson River University Trades and Technology Division to have the first year trades pre-apprentice students build a home from start to finish. The home is then sold to the YMCA/YWCA to use as their Dream Home lottery fund raiser.
Local suppliers have an opportunity to participate as a sponsor in this high profile project. Sponsors are recognized in various ways according to their sponsorship level over a one year period.
Your membership includes membership in CHBA-BC, the provincial organization that advocates for industry regarding appropriate education, training and the elimination of the underground contractors who jeopardize the whole industry. It also includes membership in CHBA, the national body that lobbies the federal government on issues relevant to the homebuilding industry like indexing GST rebate thresholds, reforming federal tax laws to encourage rental housing investment, and revising immigration rules. These groups are well respected and influential with elected officials in advocating on behalf of the Home Builder Industry sector.
Every member has the opportunity to chair a committee or run for a Board Director position of the organization at the local, provincial or national level. The experience and connections made are invaluable and are reflected in the success of your business
As a member you are eligible to participate in our annual CHBA Central Interior hosted Builder Awards. CHBA members are eligible to enter the provincial Georgie Awards as well as the National SAM awards. Winning a home builder award lends great credibility and profile to your business and is a great marketing tool.
As a member of CHBA Central Interior you have the opportunity to participate in a highly promoted Parade of Homes. This event is organized exclusively for residential homes. A comprehensive marketing campaign attracts a lot of qualified visitors.

CHBA Central Interior is the voice of the residential builders for this region often consulted by municipal departments and media on residential building topics and issues.
We advocate the interests of the housing industry with the federal government, making sure that political decision-makers and public servants respond to our concerns and priorities. We make representations to intergovernmental bodies where federal, provincial and municipal governments meet and make decisions affecting the industry.
